Successful CFO's know there are two types of departmental managers:

1) Those who simply look to get by without making waves, and thus considered relatively unimportant to the company's success, or

2) Those who are truly contributing to the success of the company. They bring ideas to the table and trying to make a difference in the company's success. Bringing innovative ideas to the table allows you to be viewed as a strategic thinker.
